Aims

The theme of the workshop is Event-based semantics for embedded and critical systems. The aim is to bring together people working on semantics and people from the systems community. The idea is to present a `user-friendly' view of the work on event-based semantics, and to identify concrete challenging problems for which event-based semantics could lead to solutions.

Participants are encouraged to submit position papers (at most 4 pages plain text or pdf). Appropriate topics include challenging problems is systems design, critical issues for maintainence and adaptation, and new approaches to event based semantics. Position papers and other workshop materials will be made available from the workshop webpage (http://blackforest.stanford.edu/eventsemantics/). A few papers will be selected for short presentations to stimulate discussion in workshop's concluding session.

Send position papers as email attachements to: clt AT cs.stanford.edu

Invited Speakers

The workshop is sponsored by NSF. There is potential for this to become an NSF supported research area. This is the first of several workshops aimed to set the stage.
